Sharing Initiatives in Maths Education

Mobile Lab

The challenge

Many schools in developing countries still have no access to computers. In rural areas the percentage is much lower. This means students continue to be disadvantaged and fall behind. Even though that do face issues such as unstable and unreliable electricity supplies.

The Initiative

Our mobile labĀ is a collection of high powered tablet computers pre-loaded with educational software, a projector. It is a mobile computer lab for the entire school. Any teacher can bring them into any classroom for any subject and utilize the technology to enhance their teaching.

Implementation

With a mobile lab, AMI can make regular visit to schools in the most rural parts of the country and deliver interactive computer sessions, exposure students and teachers to new technology.

  • No internet required – the tablets are pre installed with all the required software.
  • No electricity required – the tablets have a long battery and will be charged before going to the school.
