Apps for Africa

The Challenge

Mobile technologies are booming across Africa. More and more students have access to devices capable of providing rich learning experiences, however there is a clear lack of mobile apps targeted towards the needs of local children.

The Initiative

The Apps for Africa initiative will partner with local teachers, programmers and developers to create mobile games designed to boost mathematical thinking and problem solving.

Implementation

Apps will initially be made for web and android devices and will be tested and evaluated with children in local schools. Supporting notes for teachers will be created and made freely available with the apps for all.
