He studied Economics and Statistics at Kenyatta University, Kenya, and is expecting a first class degree when he graduates in December 2015. During his final year of studies he became more focused on statistics and took the online course, Statistics Made Simple from the University of Reading to deepen his understanding of the subject.

For the project, he will be generating R commands in the front end. His future plans are to complete a Masters and PhD in statistics, specialisng in Econometrics and eventually become a researcher in statistics.

While studying, she had an internship with James Musyoka working on projects in climate change, agriculture and food security. In particularly she was responsible for producing graphs in R, that were then presented to farmers at workshops.

She will work on the front end interface for the project. Mary is interested in expanding her knowledge of statistics and her future plans are to do Masters and PhD in statistics, specialising in Biostatistics and becoming a biostatistician doing research in health sector.

At Maseno, he was the Google Student Ambassador and Intel Student partner, roles that required him to organise events and training for students related to software and hardware. He also founded Maseno ICT initiative which focuses on promoting ICT knowledge within Maseno and cross gender participation in technology.

He has an interest in programming and will be involved in development of user interfaces. His long term plan is to pursue his interest in software development and become a software engineering consultant.

Polycarp

He was then selected for a full scholarship to attend a 10 month Masters program in Mathematical Sciences at AIMS (African Institute for Mathematical Sciences) Tanzania. Polycarp took courses in quantum physics, computer sciences and statistics and also completed a project titled: A Matrix Method Of Solving The Schrodinger Equation. He graduated with Distinction.

His role in the team will be to develop the front end and its link with R. His long term plan is to use his knowledge of quantum mechanics to make the world a better place to live in.

Steve

He was then selected for a full scholarship to attend a 10 month Masters program in Mathematical Sciences at AIMS (African Institute for Mathematical Sciences) Ghana. Steve took courses in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing and also completed a project titled: The seasonal forecast. He graduated with an impressive 84%.

His role will be to work on the core development and write the statistical functions. His long term plan is to pursue a PhD in climate statistics.

Please keep supporting and sharing the campaign, and thank you for joining us on this journey.
